The Big John Metal Detecting Relic Spade is designed for detecting in fields and parks where you may have to dig a deeper hole than what a hand digger is capable of. It is made from 2mm grade 204 stainless steel and has been manufactured with quality and strength in mind. This shovel features serrated and sharpened edges which makes for easy cutting through roots, sods and wads. The shovel or blade part of the relic spade is tapered from top to bottom enabling you to pull out a neat plug. The angled and curved blade lessens the chance of mud and clay sticking to the shovel as would be the case with a flat shaped spade.

We recommend using the semi-plug technique which allows the grass to remain connected to the root system giving the best chance to regrow, leaving no brown dead grass spots.
Remember to never dig and leave holes uncovered. Most importantly leave no trace except your footprints.

Delivery to Namibia is FREE for all orders over R3,000. For orders under R3,000, we charge a flat rate of R700. This pricing includes all delivery costs, including import tax and VAT, which we pay upfront on your behalf. See the list of areas we deliver to in Namibia below.
Don’t let the term ‘importing’ scare you off. We handle all the necessary paperwork and logistics, making it a hassle-free experience for you. The best part? No hidden fees or unexpected costs upon delivery.
Deliveries to outlying areas, plots, hospitals, universities, shopping centres and other non-residential type properties may incur additional delivery charges. Delivery charges are therefore subject to change, and we reserve the right to requote you on delivery. Should the delivery costs change, we will inform you, and you will have the choice to either pay the difference or cancel your order, in which case we will refund you in full.
Once your order is confirmed, we prepare a “Clearing and Forwarding Instruction” form for you to sign. With that completed, your detector will be on its way. Expect your delivery within 7 working days from dispatch to major areas. Please allow a few days extra for delivery to outlying areas. Our courier does not deliver directly to farms or similar remote sites. In such an instance, the product will be available for collection from the nearest depot in the towns listed below.
