Made entirely from 304 Stainless Steel is purposely designed and built for the South African metal detectorist in mind. The Big John Metal Detecting Sand Scoop is robust and will stand the test of time.
Make metal detecting on the beach and in the water a pleasure. Once you have detected using a sand scoop you will never go without it again, it just makes for easy digging and sand separation, leaving only the good stuff behind in the scoop. Use your foot to press the scoop deep into the sand, lean back on the handle and you will power your way through that sand in no time. Giving you more time detecting and less time digging.
The lanyard loop enables you to connect the sand scoop to your belt with a lanyard or string. This prevents the scoop from dropping to the ocean floor which is especially a pain when you are working chest deep in the surf.

Delivery to Namibia is FREE for all orders over R3,000. For orders under R3,000, we charge a flat rate of R700. This pricing includes all delivery costs, including import tax and VAT, which we pay upfront on your behalf. See the list of areas we deliver to in Namibia below.
Don’t let the term ‘importing’ scare you off. We handle all the necessary paperwork and logistics, making it a hassle-free experience for you. The best part? No hidden fees or unexpected costs upon delivery.
Deliveries to outlying areas, plots, hospitals, universities, shopping centres and other non-residential type properties may incur additional delivery charges. Delivery charges are therefore subject to change, and we reserve the right to requote you on delivery. Should the delivery costs change, we will inform you, and you will have the choice to either pay the difference or cancel your order, in which case we will refund you in full.
Once your order is confirmed, we prepare a “Clearing and Forwarding Instruction” form for you to sign. With that completed, your detector will be on its way. Expect your delivery within 7 working days from dispatch to major areas. Please allow a few days extra for delivery to outlying areas. Our courier does not deliver directly to farms or similar remote sites. In such an instance, the product will be available for collection from the nearest depot in the towns listed below.

I have been hitting the beaches regularly since getting my Minelab Equinox 800 in December. I have been using a spade to dig my targets and it has been working well for me. Little did I know what a big difference it would make using a sand scoop. I borrowed a friends and realised what a difference it made. It also allowed me to get into the surf and detect underwater.
I am very happy with my Big John Sand Scoop, it is really gets the job done and seems to be extremely will made.

I just love this sand scoop. I made my own about 2 years ago from galvanised iron and boy was it heavy! This scoop is surprisingly light for it's size and it is very strong. I can highly recommend it to anyone considering a scoop.
